Materials:
Plastic glue
Plastic bottle
Scissors
Pen
Corrugated cardboard
Masking tape
string
*optional sandpaper

Cut a clean bottle to the height you want.
It is easiest to make a straight cut if you follow a line on the bottle.

If you need to, you can smooth out the edge with the sandpaper.

Trace the opening of the bottle on a piece of cardboard.

Find an object that is a tiny bit bigger than the circle you just traced and trace around it on the cardboard.

Cut out the circle.

Measure the circle with a piece of string. Add 3/4 inch to the length and cut.

Use the length of the string for the measurement of the length of a piece of corrugated cardboard .
This piece will be the rim of the cover.

Decide the width of the rim you want for your cover and use that for the width of the piece you mark. The lines of the corrugated cardboard should be vertical.

Cut out the cardboard strip you just measured.
Wind the cardboard strip into a tight circle.

Put plastic glue all along the bottom half of the inside of the strip.

On a flat surface, align the strip around the circle with the glued area touching the outside of the circle.
Squeeze the overlapping edge tightly and put a piece of tape to hold it together while the glue dries.

Let it dry completely.

Your cover and container are now ready to be decorated!
