How to make pretty napkin rings from plastic bottles and wrapping paper

This guide will show you how easy it is to make pretty napkin rings from plastic bottles and paper. You can give your holiday table that special touch by choosing colors that accent your table setting.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Plastic bottles
Pretty wrapping paper
Scissors or craft knife
Ruler

Cut off the straight area of the plastic bottle

Cut 2 strips of the plastic and 1 strip of the paper - 1 ½ inches wide and 6 inches long

Place the paper between the 2 strips of plastic and align them

The outer strip will be slightly shorter than the inner strip. Cut the ends to make them the same.

Cut a slit ¾ of an inch from the end and about ¾ of the way up from the bottom.
Cut a slit ¾ of an inch from the other end about ¾ of the way down from the top

Pay attention that the slits on each end are going in the opposite direction

Bring the edges around and insert the slits into each other.
Pull them all the way.

Result

Roll up your napkin or make a fancy fold and insert it in the ring. Place the side with the slits on the bottom.

That’s it. Very easy!

Tips

Another great use for these napkin rings! Store wrapping paper or decorative paper rolled up with the colored side on the inside. This will prevent it from fading. Make napkin rings for each roll using a strip of paper from that roll. Use them to keep the rolls from unrolling. The same paper inside the ring will tell you which one it is.
