Materials:
Plastic bags
Iron
Scrap paper
Ironing board or flat surface protected with a towel
Scissors

Spread out the plastic bag.
Cut off the handles and closed end

The result will be a tube.
Stick your arms into the tube to unfold any folds and spread it.
Remove your arms and flatten the bag.
The bag now has 2 layers

8 layers should be a good thickness.

Options for 8 layers:

Option 1: Fold the bag in half 2 times to make 8 layers

Option 2: you can place another bag on top and fold it in half

Option 3: You can place 3 more bags on top without folding. This will give you a larger result.


* Warning turn the bag inside out if there is any printing on it.

Work in a well-ventilated area.

If you are not using an ironing board cover a flat surface with a towel to protect it.

Place the 8 layers on top of the paper

Cover the bag with another paper.
It is very important that the whole bag is covered with paper to prevent it from touching the iron.

Move a medium-hot iron gently back and forth, a few times, over each area of the bag.

Lift the paper to see if the layers have fused together. If they haven’t fused, cover the bag again and go over it a few more times.

Flip the paper covered bag over to the back side and go over it some more.
Check to see the results and repeat if necessary

When you are happy with the results peel the bag off of the paper.

That’s it, very easy!

Experiment with different bags at different temperatures and different number of times you go over it with the iron. The more times the smoother and stiffer the result will be. Have fun!
