How to make a Magen David chain decoration - kirigami

This guide will show you how to fold and cut a chain of stars that can be used for holiday decorations

Difficulty level: Advanced

Instructions:

Materials:
Long strip of paper – blue looks best
Scissors
Pencil

Take the paper strip you are using for the chain decoration
Fold the bottom right point up to the top edge and align the edges

Cut along the left edge of the triangle

Open the piece you just cut off
Fold it in half

Rotate the paper so that the folded edge is on the left side.
Bring the top edge down to the bottom edge to fold it in half again

Bring the top right point down one third of the way.

Bring the left side up to fold over the right flap.
Adjust them so that they are equal in size

Result

Rotate the paper so that the folded edge is on the right and the long point is on the bottom

Make a cut from the middle of the flap on the right until the top left point of the flap

Result

Unfold the star
Fold it in half

Place the half star on the edge of the paper strip as shown
Trace the outline of the points up to the fold

Result

Connect the diagonal lines and continue the horizontal lines as shown in the picture

Use the lines as a guide to make the 2 inner triangles on the right and 2 inner half triangles on the left
