How to make a 3D star with 8 points from paper squares

This guide will show you how to slit, fold and glue squares of paper to make a star decoration

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
2 equal squares of paper
1 square ¼ of the size for the base
Scissors
Paper glue

Place the 2 equal sized papers with the points at the top, bottom and sides

Bring the bottom point up to the top point to fold it in half. Unfold
Bring right point to the left point to fold it in half. Unfold

Flip the paper over to the back side with the straight edges on the top, bottom and sides

Fold the bottom edge to the top edge to fold it in half. Unfold
Fold side edges together to fold it in half. Unfold

Make equal slits about ¾ of the way from the edge on the vertical and horizontal creases

Rotate the paper so that the points are at the top, bottom and sides
Fold the top edges to align with the center crease

Result

Repeat on the remaining 3 points
Repeat on the second square

Result

Put glue on the left folded side

Bring the right folded side over to align the edges
*Insert your finger inside to keep it from flattening and press the flaps together to glue them

Repeat the last step on all the flaps of both papers

Place the ¼ size square with the points at the top, bottom and sides

Fold it in half horizontally. Unfold
Fold it in half vertically. Unfold

Coat the ¼ square with glue and center a star shape on top of it.

Flip it over to the back side and make sure it is aligned

When the glue has dried, coat the small square with glue

Place the second star on top with the point between the points of the star below
Let the glue dry and your star decoration is ready

Tips

If you want to hang the star, punch a small hole close to the top of the vertical crease after step 11 and thread a string through the hole before beginning step 12
