Do you need artwork for your kitchen? Would you like colors that match your decor? This guide will show you how to use silverware to make a painting with your choice of colors.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Canvas
Acrylic paints
pencil
Straight edge paint brush
Optional: small pieces of cardboard and paper towels for the frame

Place your silverware on the canvas in an arrangement that pleases you.
Place the spoons and forks face down.

Lightly outline the silverware with a pencil.
Make a mark where the knife handle begins

Paint inside the lines.
Make lighter colors by mixing white paint with the colors you have chosen for the knife handles
Paint the blades with the lighter colors. Put some of the light paint aside for corrections.

When the paint has dried make corrections with the white paint

Fill in the background with white paint.
Be very careful when painting between the silverware
If you cover parts of the silverware by accident you can make corrections when the white paint has dried.

If you want an impasto effect spread thick paint with your paintbrush or a small piece of cardboard.

Carefully apply a thick layer of paint between the silverware pieces and a bit around them

Make corrections as needed.
You can stop here or continue if you want to frame the picture with paint.

Paint the outside of the frame on one side with a color of your choice.
Put a little paint on your finger and run it along the edge.

Wet a paper towel and run it back and forth above the edge.
When the paint has dried repeat step 10 and 11 on each side with a different color.
