How to make a crown from paper strips

Do you need something for the last minute or want to whip up crowns for play? This guide will show you a quick and easy method to make a crown from paper strips.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Stiff paper
Scissors or crafts knife
Small round object
Ruler
Paper glue
Pen or pencil

Cut strips of paper 1 ¼ inches wide
Here the 1 ¼ inch width of the ruler was used for the width of the strips

Glue 2 or more strips together to get a length long enough to wrap around your forehead.

Wrap the long strip around your forehead and mark the place where it overlaps.
Put this long strip aside

Take the other 1 ¼ inch strips you made.
Cut 12 strips 4 inches long

Arrange pairs of the 4 inch long strips to make triangles. Adjust them so that first triangle begins at the line you marked in step 4 and the last triangle touches the other end of the long strip. When you are satisfied with the placement glue them in place

Find a round object that fits at the top of the glued strips.
A large bottle cap was used in this guide

Trace the bottle cap 6 times and cut out the circles

Flip the long strip over to the back side.
Glue the circles to the tops of the triangles
If you want to decorate the crown you can do it now or wait until after the next step

Bring the ends of the long strip around so that the line you marked in step 4 is in the inside.
Bring the other end up to the line and glue it in place.
