How to make a marble swirl pound cake

This is a great cake. It doesn’t fall apart and good for cutting a few slices to take with you when you have no time for breakfast or just in the mood for something to snack on. It freezes well for a good reserve cake

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup milk
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
3 ½ cups flour
¼ cup cocoa
1 tube baking pan

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Mix the sugar and butter or margarine until blended

Add the remaining ingredients except the cocoa and mix at high speed about 4 min

Pour most of the batter into a greased tube cake pan – it is the pan with a hole in the middle

Leave about 2 ½ cups of batter in the mixer

Mix the ¼ cup of cocoa into the batter in the mixer

Spoon the cocoa mixture on top of the batter in the baking pan

Slightly mix the cocoa layer into the batter – not enough to blend completely just enough to make swirls.

Place it on the lower part of the preheated 350 degree oven and bake 50-60 until a tooth pick comes out dry.

Careful that the top does not burn.

Let the cake cool in the baking pan before removing it

Slice and serve
