How to make Grandma’s roll cookies

These delicious filled roll cookies are made with a flaky dough and are a special treat

Difficulty level: Advanced

Instructions:

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
¾ cup plain yogurt
1 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon baking powder
For filling you can use: chocolate spread like nuttella , nuttella mixed with jelly
Sprinkled with chopped walnuts or other favorite nuts

It is best to mix all the ingredients as little as possible by hand for a flaky dough

…If you use the blender or mixer, mix the margarine or butter and the yogurt as little as possible.

Add the flour and mix only until all the ingredients are incorporated.
The less you mix the better.

Put the dough in a plastic bag and refrigerate 1 hour.

Divide the dough into 3 equal balls
Roll one of the balls out onto a floured surface

Spread with your choice of filling. In this case chocolate spread mixed with strawberry jam is used
Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top of the spread

Roll up the dough and squeeze the side ends closed.
Repeat the process for the other 2 portions of dough.
Place them seam side down on a greased baking sheet
Bake in 325 degrees fahrenheit oven about 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and when cool enough to handle cut slices

Let them cool.
Sprinkle with powder sugar before serving.
