This guide will show you how to make a simple paper basket. It is make the same way as the traditional origami cup with an extra step.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
1 square sheet of paper
Scissors

Place the paper with the points at the top, bottom and sides.

Fold it in half horizontally and unfold.

Fold the paper in half vertically.

Place the paper so the the long edge is at the bottom.

Fold the top layer down to the bottom edge.

Result
Unfold the fold you just made

Bring up the right point to the crease you just made. Made sure the edges align.

Repeat on the left side.
Crease and unfold

Flip the paper over to the back side.
Rotate the paper so that the long edge is on the left side.
Bring the top point down to fold the paper in half horizontally

Cut a slit from the top at the right until the crease.

Pay attention that the distance of the slit from the side will be the width of the handle.

Unfold the the last fold.
Flip the paper back over so that the long edge is at the bottom and refold the sides.
Fold one layer of the cut shape down..
