This is a simplified version of the origami kusudama flower. It is easy enough for children and “the origami challenged”

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

<p> Materials:</p>
<p> 6 paper squares for the petals</p>
<p> 6 paper squares of the same size as the petals for the stamen</p>
<p> Paper glue</p>
<p> </p>

Materials:
6 paper squares for the petals
6 paper squares of the same size as the petals for the stamen
Paper glue

Fold the stamen square paper in half

Fold it in half again

Fold it in half one more time

<p> Unfold the paper</p>
<p> Use the crease lines to fold the paper accordion style</p>
<p> </p>

Result

<p> Flatten the accordion.</p>
<p> Make a cut at an angle on the bottom end. This is the stamen.</p>
<p> Make 5 more</p>

<p> Place the paper with the points on the top, bottom and sides.</p>
<p> Put glue along the right bottom edge.</p>
<p> </p>

Place the paper with the points on the top, bottom and sides.

Place the accordion folded stamen on the glue with the slated cut edge at the center.

<p> Put glue on the top layer of the accordion.</p>
<p> Bring the left bottom edge of the petal paper up and over to align it with the right edge of the accordion.</p>
<p> Do not crease the left side. </p>

Bring the left bottom edge of the petal paper up and over to align it with the right edge of the accordion.
Do not crease the left side.

Take one of the petals and put glue along the right bottom edge.

<p> Align a second petal along the edge.</p>
<p> Repeat until you have glued all 6 petals</p>

<p> Put glue on the straight edge of last petal</p>
<p> Bring the opposite edge around to make a cone and stick your finger inside to press the straight edges together.</p>
