1 square paper
Scissors
Optional pen or pencil

Bring the bottom edge of your square paper up to the top edge to fold it in half

Bring the right bottom corner up and align the side edge with the top edge

Bring the top right corner down and align to the bottom edge

Bring the left bottom edge up to the center point of the creases you just made. It is marked in red on the picture

Fold the right edge of the flap you just made to align with its left edge.

Bring the right bottom edge up to align with the right edge of the last flap you made

Flip the paper over to the back side

Bring the right edge to align with the left edge

The folding part of the flower is finished.

To make a simple flower draw a slight arc from the right top corner of the top layer down to about the middle of the left side

Make another line following the shape of the first line and continuing with a v shape to the right edge

Cut out the area shown in red in the picture

Very carefully unfold the paper to see your kirigami flower

To make a flower with the cherry blossom petal shape:

Start to draw the line from about ¼ of the way down on the right side to the middle of the top edge of the top layer.
Draw a slightly arced line down to about half way of the right side.
Follow the line and continue with the v shape at the bottom as shown in the picture.

Cut along the outside of the lines as you did in the last flower shape

Now draw one with a half circle on top of the right side of the v shape .

Unfold very carefully to see your Kirigami sakura
