Stick the knife only through the depth of the peel and cut around the middle of the pomegranate.  
 
Twist the 2 sides and pull them apart.
 
Take each half and pull on the sides to loosen them.  
 
Hold each half upside down over a bowel and tap on the top until all the seeds fall into the bowl.
