How to make an origami crane.
The origami crane is one of the best know models. It is often used to represent origami and as a symbol of peace.

Steps
- 1
Step 1
Materials: 1 square piece of paper - 2
Step 2
Skip to step 9 if you know how to fold the square base. Place the paper with the points at the top, bottom and sides. Fold in half horizontally and unfold. - 3

Fold in half vertically and unfold. - 4
Step 4
Flip the paper over to the back side. Place the paper so that the straight edges are on top, bottom and sides. Fold in half horizontally and unfold. - 5

Pinch all the diagonal folds. Continue to squeese them together and the horizontal folds will fold inward.. - 7

Squash down the paper. - 8

Make sure the open end of the paper is at the bottom. Bring the 2 sides to the center crease and align the edges. - 10

Fold the bottom point up along the straight edge of the folds you made in the last step. unfold - 11

Unfold the 2 flaps at the top. Pull down the top point and fold it along the crease inward. See the next picture for results Flip the paper over to the back side and repeat steps 9 to 11 - 12

Fold the bottom sides to align with the center crease. - 13

Fold the 2 bottom points up at an angle as shown in the picture. - 14

Give them a sharp crease. - 15

Open one side and bring the end up. Press down on the crease you made in previous step. Repeat on the other side This is a reverse fold - 16

On one side only, make a fold at an angle. Crease it sharply and unfold Pull it open slightly and make a reverse fold. - 17

Gently pull the wings down and out for your finished crane.
