Materials:
Bath towels, hand towels, washcloths or even dish towels

Spread the towel open
Fold it in half lengthwise

Rotate the towel so that the short edge is closest to you.
Make a small fold at the short edge and roll the towel up tightly.

Result

If you want to make a shorter roll, fold the towel in thirds lengthwise
Fold a long edge 1/3 of the way.
And fold the opposite long edge over it to the other side

Make a small fold at the short edge and tightly roll up the towel.

Here are the towels rolled up.
The short roll on the left was folded in thirds
The longer roll on the right was folded in half

You can display or set up a gift basket with towels rolled to different heights.

If you are standing up the towels in a basket, keep the neat folded end on the top and the open edge in the back.

If you are laying them on top of each other, on a shelf, put the neat folded end in the front and place the open end on the bottom.
