How to Fold a 6-Pointed Star Napkin for Your Holiday Table
Fold a square cloth napkin into a 6-pointed star for holiday table settings.
What You'll Need
- 1 square cloth napkin (cotton or linen)
- Flat, clean surface
Use a square cloth napkin (cotton or linen) to create a 6-pointed star. Work on a flat, clean surface.
Step 1: Make a Large Triangle
Lay the napkin flat in a diamond orientation. Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner, forming a large triangle.
Step 2: Make a Smaller Triangle
Fold the left corner of the large triangle over to the right corner, creating a smaller triangle.
Step 3: Create a Diamond Base
From the smaller triangle, take the two outermost points at the base and fold them inward toward the center point, forming a diamond shape.
Step 4: Define the First Star Points
Fold the two top layers of the diamond downward, aligning their edges with the bottom edge of the diamond.
Step 5: Complete the Star Shape
Flip the napkin over. Fold the two remaining outer edges (now at the top) inward toward the center.
Step 6: Final Adjustments
Gently pull apart the folds to open the star shape. Adjust points as needed.
Tip
Use a starched napkin for crisper points.
