How to Fold a Pinwheel Napkin
Step-by-step instructions for folding a square cloth napkin into a pinwheel shape.
What You'll Need
- Square cloth napkin (cotton or linen)
Time: 5–10 minutes per napkin. Difficulty: Easy.
Start Flat
Lay the napkin completely flat on a clean, smooth surface. Smooth out any wrinkles.
Fold Corners to Center
Fold each of the four corners inward so their points meet exactly at the center. Press creases firmly.
Fold Again
With the smaller square facing up, fold the new four corners inward to the center again. Press firmly.
Flip and Repeat
Flip the napkin over. Fold the four corners to the center once more, pressing each crease.
Flip and Pull Points
Flip the napkin again. Gently pull out the four folded flaps from underneath to create the pinwheel petals.
Tip
Use starchy fabrics like linen or heavy cotton for sharper creases. Lightly starch soft napkins before folding.
Note
Press each fold firmly to help the napkin hold its shape.
