How to make a woven paper napkin ring

Steps

   Materials: Toilet paper roll or cardboard strips Colored paper cut into ¼ inch wide strips Paper glue and white glue Clothespin Scissors Pen

   For a napkin ring make marks ¾ inch around and also 6/8 inches around.

   Make a cut from one open end to the opposite end.

   Cut along the marks you made to make 2 pieces .

   Apply glue to an end of the wider strip and overlap the edges 3/4 inch. Hold it in place with the clothespins until completely dry.

   Wrap 3 strips of colored paper around the tube. They should be only tight enough to stay in place and not too tight that you cannot weave them. Glue only the ends of the strips together. Do not glue them to the cardboard.

   Insert a strip under the middle strip that is going around the tube.

   Cut the strip you just inserted so that there is plenty of extra to bend over the edges on each side Inset another strip under the 2 outer strips as shown in the picture. Cut the ends so they can be bend over the edges as you did with the first strip

   Continue adding strips alternating inserting under the middle and the next under the side strips until you have gone all around the tube.

    Apply glue to the inside along the 2 edges and fold the ends of the strips over the edges.

    Press them into the glue and let dry.

    Take the second tube strip and roll it up. Apply glue to the outside and insert it into the woven tube.

    Unwind and spread it inside so that the edges are touching smoothly. Hold it in place with the clothspin until dry.

    Your napkin ring is ready. To make a bracelet Make a fist and measure around it with a string or strip of paper. Cut cardboard the width you would like your bracelet to be and the length you have measured plus 1 inch, then do steps 5 until step 13
