How to make a paper cube frame
This is a fun and easy way to create a 3D cube frame from paper.
What You'll Need
- paper cube
- 3D cube
- paper crafts
- geometry
Steps
- 1
Step 1
12 equal size paper rectangles
Paper glue
Scissors
Pen
Ruler
For this guide 3 sheets of printer paper were cut into 4 pieces each. Any equal size paper can be used.
- 2
Step 2
Mark the top and bottom 1 centimeter from the edge.
Connect the marks for the crease line.
- 3
Step 3
Make a fold on the line.
- 4
Step 4
Fold the paper in half.
unfold
- 5
Step 5
Fold the sides to the center crease.
- 6
Step 6
Fold the paper in half again.
Repeat on 7 more papers.
- 7
Step 7
Place 1 folded paper horizontally.
Place another folded paper vertically on top.
Carefully align the top and right edges.
Make a line along the left edge.
Repeat 7 more times.
- 8
Step 8
Unfold the paper.
- 9
Step 9
Cut along the crease up to the line on both sides.
This will give you a flap.
- 10
Step 10
Flip the paper over. The folded edge should be on top.
Fold the flap over.
Put glue on the folded edge.
Bring the bottom edge up to the top edge to fold the paper in half.
Let the glue dry.
- 11
Step 11
Lift the top layer to form a 3D rectangle.
- 12
Step 12
Make a right angle by inserting the side with 4 walls into the side with 3 walls.
- 13
Step 13
Use 4 of the 3D rectangles to make a square.
- 14
Step 14
Make 2
Align all the edges and glue them in place.
- 15
Step 15
Take the remaining 4 papers.
Fold 1 in half.
Align it to the left edge and make a line along its right side.
Align it to the right edge and make a line along its left side.
- 16
Step 16
Cut slits along the crease lines to the pen lines.
- 17
Step 17
Flip the paper over so that the folded edge is on the top.
Fold the slit areas inward.
Put glue on the folded edge at the top.
Bring the bottom edge up to fold the paper in half.
Let the glue dry.
Lift the top layer to form a 3D rectangle. Each side has 2 walls.
- 18
Step 18
Place a side with 2 walls on each corner of one of the squares.
Align them and glue them in place.
- 19
Step 19
Insert the second square into the top openings.
- 20
Step 20
Align the corners and glue them in place.
Enjoy your 3D cube frame!
