This is a fun and easy way to create a 3D cube frame from paper.

Steps

    12 equal size paper rectangles

    Paper glue

    Scissors

    Pen

    Ruler 

     

     For this guide 3 sheets of printer paper were cut into 4 pieces each. Any equal size paper can be used.

    Mark the top and bottom 1 centimeter  from the edge.

    Connect the marks for the crease line.

    Make a fold on the line.

    Fold the paper in half.

    Fold the sides to the center crease.

    Fold the paper in half again.

    Repeat on 7 more papers.

    Place 1 folded paper horizontally.

    Place another folded paper vertically on top.

    Carefully align the top and right edges.

    Make a line along the left edge.

    Repeat 7 more times.

    Unfold the paper.

    Cut along the crease up to the line on both sides.

    This will give you a flap.

    Flip the paper over. The folded edge should be on top.

     

    Fold the flap over.

    Put glue on the folded edge.

    Bring the bottom edge up to the top edge to fold the paper in half.

    Let the glue dry.

    Lift the top layer to form a 3D rectangle.

    Make a right angle by inserting the side with 4 walls into the side with 3 walls.

    Use 4 of the 3D rectangles to make a square.

    Align all the edges and glue them in place.

    Take the remaining 4 papers.

    Fold 1 in half.

    Align it to the left edge and make a line along its right side.

    Align it to the right edge and make a line along its left side.

    Cut slits along the crease lines to the pen lines.

    Flip the paper over so that the folded edge is on the top.

     

    Fold the slit areas inward.

    Put glue on the folded edge at the top.

    Bring the bottom edge up to fold the paper in half.

    Let the glue dry.

    Lift the top layer to form a 3D rectangle. Each side has 2 walls.

    Place a side with 2 walls on each corner of one of the squares.

    Align them and glue them in place.

    Insert the second square into the top openings.
