How to make a paper napkin ring with a lattice design
This guide will show you an easy way to cut paper into a lattice design and use it to make a napkin ring. It looks nice if you use colors that match your table decorations.

Step 1
Materials Colored paper - it can be pretty colored junk mail or paper scraps Scissors Paper glue - 2

Cut a strip of paper the width you want your napkin ring to be. In this demonstration a 2 inches X 5 inches strip of junk mail was used Fold the strip of paper in half lengthwise. Unfold - 3

Fold the top and bottom edges to align with the center crease you made in the last step - 4

Bring the top edge down to the bottom edge to fold the paper in half lengthwise - 5

Cut a triangle from the end of the bottom edge. - 6

Flip the paper over . The triangle you just cut should be at the top. Cut another triangle at the bottom edge. See the picture for results - 7

Flip the paper over again and cut another triangle. See the picture for the result - 8

Continue to flip over the paper and cut triangles. Cut the ends off at the same angle as the side of the triangle near the end. It is marked in red in the picture - 9

Carefully unfold the paper you just cut. Apply glue to the paper you want for the background. The back ground paper should be a little longer than the cut strip. See the picture. Place the cut paper on top and smooth it out. - 10

Cut a straight line along the top and bottom of the paper if it is not neat. Cut off only one side of the background paper. Apply glue to the other side. - 11

Bring the sides around together to form a ring. Align the cut end as best you can over the glued end. - 12
