Easy Paper Fan Craft for Kids
Make a simple paper fan with kids using common supplies. Great for summer or quick DIY.
What You'll Need
- 1 sheet of paper (8.5 x 11 inches or A4)
- Crayons, markers, or stickers (optional for decorating)
- Tape or glue stick
- Scissors (optional, for trimming)
This craft uses one sheet of paper and a few basic supplies. Kids can decorate and fold to make a working fan.
Step 1: Decorate the Paper (Optional)
Let the child draw or stick decorations on one side of the paper. This step is optional but adds fun.
Step 2: Fold Accordion Style
Place the paper flat. Starting from a short edge, fold about 1 inch (2.5 cm) over. Flip the paper and fold again the same width. Repeat until the whole sheet is folded into a narrow strip.
Step 3: Secure the Base
Fold the strip in half to bring the two ends together. Wrap tape or apply glue around the folded middle to hold it. Let it dry if using glue.
Step 4: Open the Fan
Spread out the folded sections to form a fan shape. Hold the secured base and wave to use.
Tips
Try different paper sizes or types. Use thicker paper for a sturdier fan. Decorate both sides for more color.
