How to Make Paper Hearts: Easy DIY Craft for Decorations

What You'll Need
- Construction paper, cardstock, or patterned paper
- Optional: glitter, markers, stickers for decoration
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Ruler and pencil (optional)
- Stapler or craft glue
Create paper hearts using strips of paper. Adjust strip length and width to change heart size.
Prepare Paper Strips
Cut paper into strips. For a standard heart, use strips about 1 inch wide and 8–12 inches long. Use a ruler and pencil to mark even widths, then cut straight lines.
Form the Heart's Point
Take two strips and align their ends. Hold them together. Bend one strip over the other to create a V shape, forming the bottom point of the heart. Secure the point with a small staple or glue.
Create the Top Curves
From the secured point, curve the free ends of both strips outward and then inward toward the center, shaping the top lobes of the heart.
Secure the Heart Shape
Bring the two curved ends together at the top center. Overlap them slightly and fasten with glue or a staple. Trim any excess paper if needed.
Size Variation
