How to make a pop-up heart card for Valentine's day.

Steps

   Materials: Thick paper for the card Scrap paper Scissors Pen

   See step 6 for approximate size of the scrap paper. Fold the scrap paper in half.

   Draw half a heart shape. Cut it out along the curved side - do not cut the folded edge of the heart.

   Fold your card paper in half widthwise and unfold.

   Fold the paper in half lengthwise.

   Insert the bottom fold into the heart you cut out

   Use the heart as a guide to cut out a heart. Leave a connecting area. See the next picture showing a yellow line where not to cut before you begin cutting

   Do not cut where the yellow line is in the picture.

   Fold the half - heart shape to the left along the area you did not cut.

    Result Now unfold it to bring it back in place.

    Open up the paper and fold it widthwise.

    Crease the uncut background backwards. See the next picture for the result.

    Stick your finger under the heart to push it out and crease it.

    Result. The background folds in and the heart folds out. Close the card, press it down to crease it sharply and your popup heart card is ready to decorate and for your message.
