How to make a 5 pointed star from paper

Steps

   Step 1

   
   Materials: 5 equal size squares of paper Paper for strips of a different color Paper glue Scissors to cut the strips

   Hold the paper with the points at the top, bottom and sides Bring the sides together to fold it in half Unfold

   Fold the top sides down to align with the center crease.

   The result is a kite shape

   Fold the remaining 4 square papers the same way for a total of 5 kite shapes

   Cut 5 strips of paper long enough to stick out a little from both sides of the widest paper of the kite. See the picture

   Align and glue a strip beneath the flaps of each kite shape.

   Place one kite with the long point vertical. Place a second kite to the left with the long edge horizontal (see the picture) Put some glue on the left end of a strip of the kite on the right. Stick it into the flap of the left kite shape. Make sure the edge of the left kite is horizontal with the flaps on the right

   Place another kite on the right. Put glue on the left edge of its strip. Stick the strip into the flap of the middle kite. Make sure the edge of the kite is horizontal with the flaps of the center kite shape.

    Rotate the star so that the next kite shape is on the right. Repeat step 9 Repeat until you have glued all 5 kites. When you get to the 5th kite glue both sides of the strip into the kites on both sides.

    Flip the star over to the back. You can fold the strips sticking out along the edge of the kite shape or….
