    Materials:

    Paper for the petals

    Paper for the stamen

    Scrap paper

    Paper glue stick

    Skewer or similar shaped object

    Scissors

    Bottle cap

    Cut 7 rectangles for the petals.

    In this guide they are 1 1/4 inches X 2 1/2 inches (3 cm X 6 cm)

    The width should be about the same as the bottle cap and the length 2X’s the width

    Cut a piece of scrap paper the same size

    Fold the scrap paper in half lengthwise

    Unfold

    Fold the bottom right point up to the crease

    Trace the outline of the bottle cap on another piece of scrap paper.

    Cut out the circle.

    Fold the circle in half.

    Fold it in half again.

    Unfold

    Align the crease of the circle to the crease on the scrap paper.

    Trace the curved edge of the circle.

    Use the line you traced to cut the curve.

    Place the scrap paper on top of the petal paper.

    Make sure they are aligned.

    Fold the bottom corner up along the fold of the scrap paper.

    Cut the top using the scrap paper as a guide.

    Do this to all 7 petal papers

    Take 2 petal papers.

    Align the bottom edge of the top paper to fold of the petal beneath it.

    Pay attention that the left ends of both folds meet. Glue the top fold in place.

    Place another petal on top.

    Align the bottom edge of the top paper to the fold of the petal beneath it.

    Repeat until you have glued all 7 petals.

    Lift the last petal up and over the first petal to glue it in place. This will make a slight cone shape.

    Flip the flower over to the back side.

    Put glue on the edges sticking up and press them in place. You do not want to flatten the cone shape so stick a finger underneath to press against.

    Flip the flower over to the front again.

    Roll the petal tips a little bit with the skewer.

    Cut a fringe on the stamen paper.

    Roll up the paper on the skewer. When you get to the end of the roll put glue along the edge. Do not put glue where the fringe is.

    Remove the rolled paper from the skewer.

    Twist it up to the fringe.

    Push the point of the skewer through the center of the flower.

    Insert the twisted end of the stamen into the hole. Pull it through until the fringe.

    Fluff the fringe and you flower is ready.
