How to make a decorative paper lantern

Steps

   You will need one sheet of paper, printer paper works fine. - the longer the paper the wider the decoration will be A strip of paper for the handle Scissors A ruler or straight edge such as a piece of paper Paper glue stick Pen

   Place the paper on the table so that the short ends are on top and bottom. Fold up about ½ inch from the bottom of the paper

   Fold the paper in half and unfold

   Fold the top and bottom edges to the center crease and unfold

   Put glue on the flap and fold the paper in half

   Turn the paper so that the folded edges are on the sides Take you straight edge (paper or ruler) and make a little mark on both sides as shown in picture

   Bring the straight edge down about 1 inch and mark the edges again

   Cut triangles using the marks as guides for where to start cutting inwards Do not cut all the way to the center

   Use your straight edge to make another set of marks

    And cut 2 more triangles

    Continue marking and cutting triangle as shown in picture

    Open up the folds to make 4 corners Take a strip of paper slightly longer than twice the size of the opening at the top and glue one side to the inside as shown in picture

    Glue the other end of the strip of paper to the opposite side of the opening and your paper lantern is ready to hang
