How to make a flower from 3D triangles
Combining 3D shapes is so much fun! The possibilities are endless. This basic guide will show you how to make triangles and put them together to form a flower.
What You'll Need
- 3d shapes
- polyhedron
- triangles
- paper crafts
- math crafts
Steps
- 1
Step 1
Materials:
5 paper strips
5 paper strips - the same width of another color
Paper glue
- 2
Step 2
Cut 5 paper strips, of one color, into the length 4 X’s the width
And the other color into 5 paper strips the length 2 X’s the same width
- 3
Step 3
Fold all the strips in half
- 4
Step 4
Fold the sides of the long strips to the center crease.
- 5
Step 5
Result
- 6
Step 6
Take a long folded strip. Put glue on one flap.
Bring the other flap over and align it on top.
It should make a triangle.
- 7
Step 7
Result
Repeat on the 4 remaining long folded strips.
- 8
Step 8
Put glue on 1 side of the crease of the small strip.
Insert it into the triangle and align the crease with the edge.
Press it down against the inside to glue it in place.
- 9
Step 9
Result
Repeat on all the triangles
- 10
Step 10
Put glue on the underside of the folded flap.
- 11
Step 11
Take another triangle with the flap on the left side.
Insert the glued side against the right- side wall.
This is a view from the top.
- 12
Step 12
Continue gluing the inner flaps.
- 13
Step 13
When all 5 triangles have been glued together glue the last flap to the first triangle.
- 14
Step 14
That’s it! You have your first basic shape with 5 triangles.
You can put the flowers on stems or use them as decorations or bows on gifts.
