How to make a hexagon from a circle

Steps

   Step 1

   

   Materials:

   Circular object to trace the circle

   Pen and scissors

   Paper

   Trace the circular object and cut out the circle

   Fold the circle in half

   Fold it in half one more time.

   Unfold

   Fold the bottom of the vertical crease up to the center point.

   Make a fold from the top center and the bottom right edge.

   Make a fold at the edges of the 2 flaps.

   This will create an equilateral triangle.

    

   The points where the folds meet the edges of the circle divide it into 3 equal parts.

   Skip to step 11 to create a hexagon.

   Steps 8 to 10  will show you how to divide the circle into 6 equal parts.

    

   Fold the top point down to the right bottom point.

   Unfold

   Fold the top point down to the bottom left point.

    Fold the 3 points of the triangle to the center point to create a hexagon.

    You can use the folded circle as it is , trace around the outline of the hexagon or use the crease lines to cut out the hexagon shape.
