How to make a traditional kusudama ball

Steps

   Materials: 6 squares of paper paper glue

   Place the paper with the points at the top, bottom and sides. Fold it in half horizontally. Unfold. Fold it in half vertically. Unfold.

   Rotate the paper so that the straight edges are on, top, bottom and sides. Fold the side edges to the center.

   Fold the top and bottom edges to the center.

   Unfold the top fold you just made. Fold the inner edges outward from the center.

   Result Press the top down to flatten it.

   Result Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the botton side.

   Lift the fold on the right side.

    Press down in the inside from the center to the corner. A triangle will come forward. Squash it down flat.

    Fold the sides of a corner flap to align with the center crease.

    Lift up one layer of one of the sides you just folded. Stick you finger in and press it down from the inside. A triangle will come up at the top. Press it down flat. Repeat on the other flap. Repeat steps 11 to 12 for the remaining 3 corners

    Fold the corner point back along the tops of the little triangles.

    Repeat steps 2 to 13 to make 5 more

    Place the pieces with the little triangles facing up. Glue them together as shown in picture. Bring the left most piece over to the right side and glue the triangles together

    Result Bring the top unglued peice down and glue the triangles to the ones next to each other. Repeat for the other unglued piece.
