How to make paper flowers for decorations. Paper crafts for kids

   Materials: Colored paper Scissors Paper glue Tooth pick Bottle cap or other round object Pen or pencil

   To make the 4 inches wide flower to decorate a present (as was made for this demonstration ) you will need for the petals: 8 squares of one color 1 ¾ inches wide 8 squares of the same color 1 ½ inches wide And 8 squares 1 inch wide of another color Any size can be used just keep in mind that the petals get smaller towards the center. Hold the square paper with the points at the top, bottom and sides Bring the side points together to fold it in half. Unfold

   Fold the side points to the center and align the edges to the center crease. See next picture for result

   Flip the paper over to the back side Roll the top point around the toothpick. This is the petal. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for all the squares

   Trace a bottle cap or round object 2 times and cut out the 2 circles

   Take one of the circles Bring the top and bottom together as if you were going to fold it in half - but only pinch at the center. Bring the sides together as if you were going to fold it in half and pinch the center again. This will mark the center point.

   Glue the tip of one of the larger petals to the center point. The rolled up tip should be facing upwards.

   Place the point of a second large petal at the center point and align the side edge with the first petal. Glue it in place.

    Repeat with the remaining 6 largest petals

    Glue the next largest petal between 2 petals below it and the point at the center.
