DIY Book Page Star Decorations
Turn old book pages and pipe cleaners into star decorations. Eco-friendly craft for home decor or gifts.
What You'll Need
- Old book pages (5-6 sheets)
- Pipe cleaners (5-6, any color)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
Repurpose old book pages into star decorations. You need basic supplies and about 30 minutes.
Prepare Book Pages
Tear or cut 5-6 pages from an old book. Cut each page into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. You need 5-6 strips total.
Fold Strips
Fold each strip in half lengthwise, crease, then unfold. This creates a center line for the star points.
Assemble Star Base
Lay the strips flat in a starburst pattern, overlapping at the center. Insert a pipe cleaner through the center hole of each strip, then twist the pipe cleaners together tightly to secure the base.
Shape the Star
Bend each strip outward to form star points. Adjust angles so they are evenly spaced. Trim any excess paper or pipe cleaner ends.
Display
Hang with string or place on a shelf. Add a loop of pipe cleaner to the top if you want to hang it.
Tip
Use pages with different text sizes for visual variety. You can also paint the edges with a light color.
Warning
Keep scissors away from small children. Pipe cleaner ends can be sharp—bend them down.
