Materials: Corrugated cardboard White glue Scissors Pencil Ruler Object with circular base

Trace around a circular object on the cardboard. You can use a large jar, vase or a small plate.

Use the same circular object to trace and cut out a circle from paper. Fold the paper circle in half. Place it onto the cardboard circle and use the straight edge to mark a line going across the middle. Cut the cardboard in half.

Place the cardboard half circle on a piece of paper, Trace the bottom edge and make a line going down from both sides. The height of those lines will determine the height of your box. Cut out the rectangular shape.

This paper rectangle is a template to cut out the 2 sides of the box from cardboard. Make a line around the template and cut out 2 rectangles

Place the 2 rectangles next to each other with the shorter edged touching to measure and mark the front and back of the box bottom. Use a ruler to draw the shape. Make another for the back piece Cut out the 2 pieces of cardboard.

You should have 6 pieces of cardboard that look like the picture.

Align corners of one of the smaller rectangles and one of the longer rectangles to get size of the bottom of the box. The short side of the small rectangle should be aligned with the long side of the big rectangle . Mark them and draw the shape with a ruler. Then cut the shape out.

Use a thin cardboard strip to measure the rounded top. Cut off the extra part.

Alight the corners of the large rectangle and the thin cardboard strip (you just measured along the top of the half circle ) Mark the height and width of the cardboard. Draw the lines with a ruler and cut out the pieces.

Roll up the large piece you just cut out. Make sure that the ribs of the cardboard are going horizontally when you roll it.

Coat the tops edges of the rounded sides of the half circles with glue and place the cardboard you just rolled along the edges. “Make sure to align them . Hold in place with masking tape until the glue dries.

Spread glue around the edges of the largest rectangle. Put masking tape on all the other rectangles. Put glue on the 2 shortest edges of the 2 smallest rectangles. Place the long edges of the taped rectangles onto the glue. Align all the edges and use the tape to hold them in place until the glue dries completely.

Result

When the glue dries remove the tape and your treasure chest or jewelry box is ready to be decorated. Have fun!
