How to make a Hanukkah card with pop-up candles
This guide will show you how easy it is to make a Hanukkah card with candles that pop-up when you open it.

Step 1
To make the Hanukkah pop-up candle card you need: Thick paper 8 ½ inches X 12 inches Thick paper of a contrasting color 6 ½ inches X 13 ½ inches Small papers of different colors for the candles Scissors Ruler - 2

Place the 2 large papers on the table with the short ends at the sides Fold them both in half by bringing the sides together - 3

Cut out : 1 strip of paper - 3/8 of an inch X 2 ½ inches 2 strips of another color - 3/8 of an inch X 2 ¼ inches 2 strips of a different color - 3/8 of an inch X 2 inches 2 strips of a different color - 3/8 of an inch X 1 ¾ inches 2 strips of a different color - 3/8 of an inch X 1 ½ inches 9 strips of a yellow or orange color - 3/8 of an inch X 5/8 of an inch - 4

Place the folded 8 ½ inches X 12 inches paper with the folded edge at the bottom. Mark the middle point - 5

Glue the 2 ½ inches strip on the center mark. Make sure its edge aligns with the crease and does not pass it. - 6

With a distance of 3/8 of an inch between each, glue the other colored strips on both sides. They should be gradually getting smaller and matching on each side. Make sure they are aligned with the crease See the picture. - 7

Cut slits, up to the top on both sides of each of the colored papers. - 8

Fold each colored paper back at the top of the sits. Unfold the colored slits and then unfold the paper base - 9

Lift up each slit and press the bottom to make a fold. Pinch the middle to make a fold as shown in picture Rotate the card and press the tops the same way as you did the bottoms - 11

Bring the top of the paper down to fold it in half and give the folded end a sharp crease. - 13

About half way from the top cut the 9 yellow strips at an angle to make a fire shape - 14

Glue the fire shapes half way down from the fold on the vertical area of the popping out candles. They should be sticking up and not glued to the horizontal area. See the picture - 15

Fold the paper with the candles in half again. Lift up one side of the larger paper. Center and align the folded edge of the smaller paper to the fold of the larger folded paper. Place glue only on the sides , top and above the candle area as shown in picture. Fold the larger paper down and press. Open and glue the back side the same way - 16
