How to make a paper star pinwheel
This guide will show you how to cut a circle into a 6 pointed star with flaps to catch the wind and make it spin.
What You'll Need
- pinwheel
- 6 pointed star
- paper star
Steps

Step 1
Materials: Paper Pin Pencil with eraser on top Paper glue Scissors Round object to trace circle Pen or pencil - 2

Trace the outline of the round object on the paper and cut out the circle - 3

Fold the circle in half - 4
Step 4
Fold the half circle into thirds - 5
Step 5
Bring the right side to the left to fold it in half one more time - 6
Step 6
Make a cut starting a little less than half way down the right side to the top of the left side - 7

Flip the paper to the other side. The longer side should be on the right. Make a slit as shown in the picture - 8

Unfold the star. Push the slits forward. Make a cut from the right edge to the center crease of each of the 6 slits. Do not cut the left side. - 9

Fold each to the left - 10

Cut 2 small triangles - 11

Glue them together to make a small star - 12

Glue the small star to the center of the back of the large one. This will keep it flat. - 13

Insert the pin through the center of the star and then into the eraser If any of the flaps were flattened fold them out again. - 14
