How to make a pencil case from toilet paper rolls
If you have junk mail and empty toilet paper rolls you can make a pencil case!

Tips
To make a tube for carrying rolled up art work just add more toilet paper rolls to the length.

Materials:
Junk mail or scrap paper
4 toilet paper rolls
Paper glue
Scissors

Place 2 toilet paper rolls next to each other.
Place the longest pencil below the edge.
Make a mark a little to the top of the pencil.
Here the mark was about an inch from the edge.

Cut a strip of paper the width you just measured. Here it is 1 inch wide.
Stand a toilet paper roll on its edge and wrap the strip of paper around it. Make sure it is flat against the table. Draw a line along the top of the strip.

Carefully cut slits all the way up to the line.

Squeeze the slit edges together and slide them into another toilet paper roll.
Adjust the rolls so that they meet at the line.

Use the end of a toilet paper rolls to mark a circle on a piece of stiff paper.
Cut out a circle slightly larger that the outline. *You will need 2 of these.

Cut slits up to the circle line.

Place one of the slit circles at the end of the double tube and glue the slits down over the edge.

Use another strip of paper about 3/4 of an inch wide to mark another toilet paper roll.

You will need to cut along the line without flattening the toilet paper roll.
Cut a slit halfway up to the line.
Cut at an arc until you get to the line.
Then cut along the line.

Use the second circle that you made in step 8 to cover the edge of the piece you just cut.
This will be the tube cover.

Cut a strip of sturdy paper and glue it to the open edge of the double roll.
Rip junk mail into small pieces.
Slide a piece over the top of the glue stick to coat the underside with glue.
Cover the double roll with overlapping glued pieces.
*Leave the end of the strip that is sticking out uncovered.

Cover the tube cover also.

Slit another toilet paper roll lengthwise.
Cut it in half widthwise.

Take one of the halves and roll it up. Apply glue to the edge.
Quickly before the glue dries, apply glue halfway up, all around the rolled up tube.
Insert it into the covered double tube.

Leave about 1/4 inch sticking out.

The cover should slide easily over the inner tube.
Glue the strip sticking out (from step 13) to the outside of the cover.
