How to make a sheriff’s star
These stars are great for costumes and play. You can make lots of them to hand out at parties.

Steps

Step 1
Materials:
Paper
Cardboard
Scissors
Pen or pencil
Paper glue
Optional: hole puncher

Cut a piece of scrap paper into a 3 X 3 inch square
Bring the top edge down to the bottom edge to fold it in half.

Bring the sides together to fold it in half again.
Unfold

Fold the side edges to the middle crease.

The paper should have the folded edge at the top.
Start at the middle crease and bring the top right point down to the first fold on the left.

Repeat with the left side.
Start at the center crease and fold the top left point down to the right crease.

Fold the right side back down along the crease again.

Flip the paper over to the back side.
Bring the right edge over to the left edge to fold it in half.

Rotate the paper so that the long point is at the bottom.
The folded edge should be on the left side.
Make a straight cut from the middle of the left edge to the right tip of the flap.

Unfold your star and trace the outline on a piece of cardboard.
Cut out the star

Glue the cardboard star to the back of colored paper.
Here silver colored paper was used.
Cut the paper along the edges of the star.

You can stop here or
Punch 6 circles with a hole puncher and glue them to the tips of the star.

To wear the star glue a safety pin, a jewelry pin or clip or you can use double sided tape for young children.
